E-learning in The Natural Step

Developed and hosted by TNS Canada, this approximately 3 hour course was launched in October 2005. It uses interactive methods, real case studies and scenarios, systems thinking and back-casting and a wealth of resources, combined with a professional format and design, to help people access and understand sustainability concepts and then apply these within the context of their own organisations, departments, communities and homes. The course provides high quality education in a readily accessible, cost effective and time efficient format that focuses on solutions based outcomes.

The course is suitable both for individuals wishing to learn more about sustainability, and for organisations keen to give all staff a basic grounding in sustainability, perhaps in preparation for a more in-depth in-house programme. This is how many Canadian organisations ranging from companies to councils and municipal associations are now using it, while Nissan in Japan is having a 15 minute customized piece developed to go with it, so it can become part of an all staff education programme.

If you are interested in purchasing just one or two copies, go direct to the TNS Canada site www.naturalstep.ca/elearning.html; if you would like to make a bulk order, please contact natstep@naturalstep.org.nz, and we will help you organize your bulk discount, discount customisation opportunities, train your administrator etc.

Otago Polytechnic of New Zealand Course

The Otago Polytechnic will be running The Natural Step introductory distance learning course from approximately August 2008, which will be NZQA accredited and involve 50 hours of learning. More information will be available here soon.
