Eight Reasons to Support The Natural Step
- When you give to The Natural Step, your support packs a punch. We make changes at the source of environmental and social problems by working upstream to engage some of the largest resource users on the planet in the opportunity of building a sustainable future.
- Because sustainability is still a new concept for most companies and communities, many view it as a financial risk and don't yet have budgets set aside to support development in this area. Until sustainability becomes the status quo in the business world, The Natural Step relies on forward-thinking individuals like you to help advance this vision.
- Let's face it: Integrating principles of sustainability into a company's or councils business practices may not be as sexy as a banner drop or a boycott. But if you believe that changing the way organisations do business is some of the most important work we can be doing right now to forge a sustainable planet, then it's more than sexy. It's effective.
- Although an important part of our work involves advising corporations, the fees we're paid don't come close to covering the true cost of our work, which includes research, symposiums and outreach that keep this field active and growing.
- In order to keep our work independent, open source and unbiased, it is critical that we augment the fees received from paying clients for our advisory services with individual and foundation contributions.
- Only a handful of foundations and public agencies in New Zealand currently fund sustainability work. Foundations are affected by the economy and most grants are awarded in limited cycles, which make individual donations even more critical.
- The kakapo, the blue whale, the panda bear, the gorilla, children's health, the air you breathe and the water you drink. Our approach and your contributions address these issues and others like them at the root causes.
- You'll join us on the ground floor of a major revolution that sees human innovation and systems change as the solution to environmental degradation and social inequity. You've taken the first step: You get it. Now it's time to take the next: Support The Natural Step!
