Support The Natural Step
The Natural Step has been working to protect the planet and improve the lives of people since 1988, and there is still so much to be done. Our work is made possible by the financial support of foundations, corporations, public agencies and many generous individuals. There are many ways to support The Natural Step. We encourage you to do so in whatever way you can, whether through money, time, opportunities or encouragement.

Why Should You Support Us?
The Natural Step relies heavily on the support of individuals to continually advance its mission. Foundations often think that because we work with companies, they should finance our work. Yet, because we are a non-profit, companies often think that foundations should fund our work. The truth is we need both and more. Very few foundations today fund sustainability work and it is critical that we augment any fees we receive from companies with other contributions to keep our work independent, unbiased and open source.

How Can You Take Action?
There are a number of ways to consider for supporting the important work of The Natural Step. All donations are tax-deductible.
Make a one-off or regular donation by mail or fax - download, complete and returning this Donation form (pdf 42kb).
Become a Friend of TNS
Help us spread the word about sustainability and sustainable business. Friends of TNS - donors contributing more than $50/year - receive a regular newsletter and invitations to interesting events. Friends also receive a discount on registration fees for workshops and seminars. Mail or fax by printing and sending this Donation form (pdf 42kb).
Become a member of the Sustainable Society
Having to constantly seek funds to cover next month’s bills diverts staff energy and focus away from long term projects that will make a real difference towards sustainability. Become a member of the Sustainable Society and pledge an amount which will help sustain the organisation over a period of years.
Plan a gift
Including The Natural Step in your planned giving is a valuable way to ensure the long-term sustainability of our work. Planned gifts include gifts through your will, charitable gift annuities, gifts of life insurance, pooled income funds, and charitable trusts.
Payroll giving
You might like to consider a small regular contribution through your payroll. It may be no more than the price of a cup of coffee, but on a weekly basis these donations can be an important source of funds over time.
Make a Memorial or Tribute Gifts
Our supporters can make a contribution to The Natural Step in memory of a loved one or to honour someone special. When a memorial or tribute donation is made, The Natural Step sends a handwritten note to the individual being honoured, or to the person who should be notified of that gift.
